Estoy muy feliz! Han llegado los libros que ilustré para OpenProm, una colección de ocho libros que recopila cuentos, poemas, novelas y obras de algunos escritores de la Generación del 98, que van a estar a la venta en conjunto con algunos periódicos de toda España!

Ha sido un gran reto, primero por los tiempos de entrega y luego por que algunos textos eran realmente difíciles de ilustrar para mí, me enfrenté a personajes y situaciones que nunca antes había ilustrado, pero me divertí mucho y aprendí acerca de este grupo de escritores!

También descubrí que me gusta mucho ilustrar poemas!

I´m very happy! I have in my hands the books that I illustrated for OpenProm, a collection of eight books that compiles tales, poems, novels and plays of some writers of the Generation of '98. These books are for sale with some newspapers of Spain!

It has been a big challenge for me, first because of the short time to finish them and then, because some texts were really difficult to illustrate for me, I faced characters and situations that I had never illustrated before, but I had a lot of fun and I learned about this group of writers!

I also discovered that I really like to illustrate poems!

Tuve la maravillosa oportunidad de ilustrar y maquetar una colección de ocho libros acerca de la Generación del 98, un grupo de escritores, novelistas, poetas y ensayistas españoles activos en la época de la guerra entre España y América en 1898. Fue un reto muy grande, por el tiempo y por que algunos escritores eran difíciles de interpretar, pero me gustó el resultado!

Se recopilaron, editaron y seleccionaron fragmentos de poemas, ensayos, cuentos y obras de teatro de Antonio Machado, Manuel Machado, Concha Espina, Pío Baroja, Azorín, Unamuno, Benavente y Valle inclán (para ver algunas ilustraciones de los libros has click en los autores).

I had the opportunity to illustrated and designed a collection of 8 books about The Generation of '98, a group of novelists, poets, essayists, and philosophers active in Spain at the time of the Spanish–American War in1898. This was a huge challenge because time was short and some writers were difficult to interpret, but I liked the result!

Fragments of poems, essays, tales and plays by Antonio Machado, Manuel Machado, Concha Espina, Pío Baroja, Azorín, Unamuno, Benavente y Valle inclán were compiled, edited and selected (if you want to check some illustrations of the books, click over the autors name).
